APC SECRETARIAT AKWA IBOM STATE ON FIRE!!

Angry protesters have launched mass protest at the party secretariat of All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking the cancellation of the ward congress exercise, alleging that the National Caretaker Committee, had “fraudulently manipulated the lists”.

The protesters drawn from the faction allegedly loyal to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio, stormed the Secretariat along Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, calling for the cancellation of the process, alleging that the Caretaker Committee Secretary, Senator John Udoedehe, purportedly included only his loyalists as candidates for the wards and chapter congresses.

Armed with placards of various inscriptions: “Udoedehe cannot decide for us in Akwa Ibom”, “The list cannot stand”, “We reject this shambolic manipulation by one man”, “This congresses cannot hold” and “Enough of one man dictatorship in Akwa Ibom APC,” the protesters set bonfire outside the party office and caused traffic chaos along the major access road outside the Uyo city centre.

“We want the whole world to know that this sham is happening in Akwa Ibom. The party in the state has come under the vice-grip of one man just because of his ambition to rule the state in 2023.”

“We don’t know how he wants to achieve this if the party is balkanized with elements of disharmony holding sway.”

“If we can no longer speak with one voice, how will he be able to realise his ambition which he has been nursing every election year?” Comrade Effiong Bassey, a youths’ activist and one of the protesters lamented.

However, the protesters, who called for the removal of the former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), insisted that “only his sacking will bring peace and force other members who left the party to return and rebuild the party for 2023.”

On Friday, stakeholders under the aegis of APC Elders Forum led by Board of Trustees (BoT) member, Group Captain Sam Ewang, had passed a vote of no confidence on the state care-taker Chairman, Dr. Ita Udosen, alleging he was playing the card of  Senator Udoedehe by manipulating the exercise and doctoring the candidates’ lists in his favour.

Therefore, the elders drawn across the 10 federal constituencies, expressed lack of faith in the exercise and called for the anomalies to be addressed before the polls.

However, at the time of filing this report, ballot materials were yet to arrive the party office.

The caretaker Chairman, Dr. Udosen, explained that “the delay in the arrival of materials is due to the restriction of movements announced by the state government because of environmental sanitation.”

He added that the exercise would go on as planned despite the protests and urged party supporters and followers to disregard the factional distraction.

EX MINISTERS, OTHER MEDIA EXECUTIVES STORM AKWA IBOM ON FACTSFINDING

Some top media personnel from the Northern part of the country have arrived Akwa Ibom on a facts finding visit.

Led by Alhaji Buhari Bala, OFR a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, they said they were propelled by the numerous success stories emanating from Akwa Ibom State, hence their decision to visit and have a first hand experience on the developments.

They were received by a delegation of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Media team led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ekerete Udoh.

Mr Udoh led the media eggheads to the ongoing international terminal building of the Victor Attah International Airport, the Green House Agriculture farm at the airport, the International Emergency Operations and Isolation Center/Molecular Laboratory at Ituk Mbak, the General hospital, Ituk Mbang, the ongoing third ring road and the 21 Storey Dakkada Towers.

They were received at the Dakkada Towers and International Terminal Building by the Project Consultant, Engr. Francis Ụwah who explained that the two projects were conceptualised by Governor Emmanuel with the highest smart and intelligent facilities in the country.

At the General Hospital and the International Emergency Operations and Isolation Center, Ituk Mbang, the team were led into the vision of the Governor in healthcare delivery by the Commissioner for Health, Prof Augustine Umoh after being led round the Green House by the state Director of Agriculture, Emmanuel Akpan.

They team also has a former National President of NUJ, Malam Nasir Zahradeen as Coordinator with Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, a former Minister Of State for Information and Chairman Unity FM/TV Jos also attending.

Others in the delegation include, Malam Mahmud Jega of 21 Century Chronicle (Chairman, Editorial)
Board Trust Newspapers), Mal. Abubakar K. Mataz – BBC Hausa, Mr. Ben Shaman -Director Voice Of Nigeria, Alh. Shaaibu Mungadi- Editor in Chief, Caliphate Online, Zubariu Idris Abdulrauf -Chairman Prestige FM, Niger State and Mr. Sheihu Saulawa -BBC Hausa Special Programmme.

Still in the delegation also are, Mr. Nasir Gwangwazo -Editor (Manhaja) Blueprint Newspapers, Alh. Nasir El Hikaya- Voice of America, Hausa Service, Alh. Mohammed I. Usman- Al-wahada News Agency (Doha, Qatar), Mal. Umar El Faruk -Radio Dutchevelle Hausa, Alh.Abubakar Dandago- Radio France international Hausa, Malam Umar F. Musa -Voice of America- Hausa (special programmes)
Alh. BUHARI Auwalu -Radio Nigeria, Kaduna and Mr. Abdul Alubere -Confluence FM Kogi State, among others.

A former Minister of State for Information Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, told reporters that they visit would afford them opportunity to have a first hand experience on the developments in the state and the peaceful disposition of its people.

Alhaji Nakande said they would be able to convey their experiences to their people in their respective states, to enable them appreciate the need to promoting peace and give room for development to thrive.

The team is expected to visit the Dakkada Composite Industries, Itam, the Ikot Oku Ikono Flyover at Uyo, remodeled hospitals in the state, remodeled schools, the new industries as well as the new roads and bridges built by the Udom Emmanuel led government.

ADC, a hitherto ‘quiet’ party, came into media spotlight when it fielded a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Mailafia, as Presidential candidate in the last election (2019), and made great waves by its policy on ‘Cerebral Governance’ which resonated with Nigerians, and consequently came a very impressive third (3rd) place in the general election, (only behind APC, and PDP).
Since then, the party has continued to wax stronger, and has established itself as the undisputed THIRD FORCE in our national politics.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has celebrated Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, describing him as a committed and devoted leader.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s goodwill message to the Governor on his 55th birthday, was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu.

Governor Emmanuel, according to the country’s President, has had successful careers as a banker and chartered accountant before joining politics.

A middle-aged civil servant, Emmanuel Bello, has asked an Agege Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his marriage with Motunrayo, alleging lack of care and threat to life.

The petitioner, a father of four, who resides at Acme Road, Ogba, in the Agege area of Lagos, also wants the 19-year-old union dissolved on grounds of stubbornness, harshness to the children and other irreconcilable differences.

Bello told the court that his wife is “too heady, not respectful and insultive”.

The petitioner, who described his wife as a debtor, said she had no iota of respect.

“She is not a loving wife and mother; she has no iota of respect.

“On many occasions, she ran out of the house very early in the morning trying to evade her creditors,” he told the court.

Bello claimed that when the embarrassment became unbearable, he had to refund the sum of N1.5 million to some of the creditors.

“When l noticed that my wife misbehaves and does not care about our children, l reported the matter to her family members, but it made no difference as she refused to change her attitude.

“My wife has been disrespectful and she no longer allows me to have sex with.

“Whenever we are together in the room, my wife puts on her underwear and knicker and does not allow me access to her.

“l kept hoping she will change for the better, but it became worse overtime, coupled with the fact that she became a party freak.

“l rented a shop for my wife to start a business, but she never contributed to the upkeep in the house.

“On so many days, she ran out of the house as early as 5.00 a.m. to avoid people she borrowed money from, without my knowledge. I ended up paying N1.5 million,” he claimed.

The petitioner alleged that his wife usually beat the children without any provocation.

“I no longer feel safe living with her.

“My life is not secured as she has vowed to deal with me,’’ Bello said.

The petitioner insisted on the dissolution of the marriage because he could no longer cope with his estranged wife’s misbehavior and irresponsible acts.

“I am no longer interested in the union; my wife does not care for me and beats my children habitually,” he said.

The petitioner prayed the court to give him custody of their children and to award him other consequential orders, as the court may deem fit.

The respondent, however, denied her husband’s claim that he had contributed to her business and also dismissed the allegations that she was not loving.

“I still love my husband and do not want to divorce him,” she said.

Motunrayo, a fashion designer, therefore, urged the court not to dissolve the marriage.

The respondent told the court that her husband does not like listening to her or heeding to her advice.

Motunrayo said that she only disciplines her children because she wanted them to be upright in life.

The court president, Mr Biola Alani, told the couple to remain at peace and adjourned the suit until Aug. 3 for judgement.

I Love The ‘Evil’ Of Prophet T.B Joshua- Enenche Blows Hot

As we bury T.B Joshua, we must not bury some of the Christ-like virtues that made him outstanding.

I kept thinking throughout the night – was this how Jesus came, performed miracles, fed the poor, healed the sick and did other good works, but the people despised, hated and killed him? I am not equating any man to Jesus, but T.B Joshua demonstrated more Christ-like virtues than many “God’s Chief Registrars, Chiefs of Staff to Jesus, Assistant God, Deputy God” parading our pulpits today as “masters of the universe”.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but were silent on his matrimonial success. He had just one wife and they were married for 31 years… This is Christ-like.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but were silent when he fed the poor, built hospitals and schools, responded to humanitarian needs on our streets… This is Christ-like.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was, but kept mute on his humility to board the same coastal bus with his team to go for outreaches. This is Christ-like because even Jesus Christ boarded the same boat with his disciples.

They told us how ‘evil’ he was but kept silent when he brought peace to South Sudan. He was a peacemaker. “Blessed are the Peacemakers…”. This is Chris-like.

Not until his death did I know his wife and even children because he never projected his family. His life and preachings projected Christ more than anything else.

He was Christ-like more than many of his critics whose followers know the “Man of God” than they know the God of men. Whose followers know their ‘father in the Lord’ than they know Christ.

People of the World, please show me one T.B Joshua’s enemy. The same people calling him fake have fellow brethren they call enemies. The same people calling him false prophet have fellow ‘genuine’ pastors that they are not in talking terms with. The same people calling him ‘evil’ have fellow Christians they wish death upon… Between these people and T.B Joshua, who is more like Christ?

If Prophet T.B Joshua was ‘evil’ and he healed the sick in the name of Jesus, fed the poor, built hospitals, schools and houses for the needy, brought peace to nations of the earth, then I like his kind of ‘evil.’

Rest in Peace Prophet T.B Joshua!
